1960s Designer Party Dress by Oleg Cassini, 60s Silk Fit and Flare, Size S

Another amazing dress from the Marmie (Margaret) Hess estate. This exquisite dress is made with crisp silk organdy fabric, the top layer of which has a beautiful pattern created with tubular tape made from the same organdy. The base layer is the same organdy over a crisp opaque lining. The illusion neckline is lined with a beige organdy and it has delicate cap sleeves that elegantly carry on to the back. The waistline has a fine piping along the front that becomes a ribbon to tie into a bow. The dress has a flattering fit and flare silhouette with pretty A-line skirt. I remember reading on the box that the dress came in that it was purchased to wear to a wedding and it seems absolutely perfect for an event like that. It would also be a lovely grad dress or bridesmaid's dress.

This is an exceptional dress made with fine details, tiny perfectly done hems on all the organdy. It is in wonderful, clean condition and is ready to wear. Ms. Hess, the original owner, was quite thin and the dress has been taken in an inch on each side so it could actually be let out to 27/28" at the waist and 36" at the bust and would still have a good amount of seam allowance left.

Bust: 34" - the dress has been taken in 2 inches that could be let out to 36"
Waist: 25" - could be let out to 27" or a bit larger.
Shoulder to waist: 16"
Waist to hem: 26 "
