50s Blue Floral Cotton Day Dress, Size M

I love being able to offer a lovely 50s dress in this great condition with its colours still vibrant and the fabric still sturdy with lots of wear left. I think the fabric is a medium weight cotton bonded to a rayon or maybe mixed synthetic (?). I've included a photo of the fabric inside so you can see that it is two sided, one has a cotton floral and the reverse side is a solid blue satin.

The design of the dress has a one piece shoulder and sleeve so there is no shoulder seam and the dress bottom portion is cut in panels that start at the bustline, so there is no waist line seam. It has a very flattering silhouette that just skims over the hips and falls into a semi-full skirt. Buttons 1/2 way down, no zipper. There are some very 50s interesting and special details like a shelf bust line, atomic sleeve cuffs and covered buttons. The designer has also made good use of the double sided fabric to create a satin piping look around the neckline and cuff edges.

I do not see a label of any kind and it could have been made by a dressmaker or perhaps homemade but either way, it is expertly made.

Dress it up with jewellery or style it up casual - it's a fabulous dress in very good, clean condition, ready to wear.
